Video Training Series Delays

I must apologize for the apparent lack of activity, I have not abandoned the project. Here’s what’s been going on. I had recorded most of the videos when I lost my voice for six weeks. There were no other symptoms, but whenever I started to talk, I very quickly got so hoarse that I could barely be heard.

Turns out that was a case of acid reflux. I had no idea that you could have acid reflux without feeling heartburn or any of the other symptoms. What was happening is that while I was asleep, the acid came up into my throat far enough to burn my vocal cords. Weird, huh?

As for the rest of the time, for those of you who don’t know, I suffer from depression. Specifically Clinical Depression or Major Depression as it is also known. That means that my depression is a medical issue, not a psychological one. “Thinking positive thoughts” “Just get over it” and “It’s all in your mind” do not apply. For most of the summer and fall, I’ve been simply “existing”. For those of you who also have it, or dealt with loved ones who have it, you know what I’m talking about.

I’ve battled with it for 3/4 of my life now. Though I’ve been taking my medication as always, it just wasn’t really working anymore. It took a long time for me to realize I needed to see the doctor, longer to actually make the call and then a long time before they could get me in. So the doctor and I have made some adjustments to the medication.

Anyway, I’m getting back on track and will be finishing the recordings soon, then off to the editing portion and re-recording the audio in places. I do not multitask well at all, so explaining what I’m doing is one thing, explaining what I’m doing while I’m doing it means there’s a lot of pauses and things like “um” “well” and other such things that really don’t have anything to do with what you’re seeing. 🙂

I’ll be in touch soon.
